Bloomberg: An unnamed “person familiar with the matter” told Bloomberg that Samsung Electronics CEO Kwon Oh Hyun will contact Apple CEO Tim Cook on Monday to see if the two sides can reach a settlement in their patent infringement case. Last week, U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh encouraged both companies to make one more attempt to settle their differences. If the two do not settle, the jury could begin deliberations in the case as early as Tuesday.

Apple is seeking between $2.5 and $2.75 billion from Samsung based on its allegations that the Samsung Galaxy products infringe on design patents for the iPhone and iPad. Samsung countersued for $399 million.
