PCMag: Amazon Web Services has announced that it is expanding its lineup of cloud computing services with Glacier, a new low-cost storage option for archive files. Glacier customers will pay just $0.01 per gigabyte per month, with no upfront costs.

Amazon also offers another cloud storage option–Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3). S3 is designed for data that customers need to access frequently, while Glacier is for long-term storage of backup files and similar data. Customers will be able to transfer data from one service to the other.
