Big Data Analytics vs. IoT Analytics: Expert Tips

As companies analyze massive amounts of data from both their IoT network and their Big Data applications, knowing how to best handle these two data streams is critical. To provide guidance, I spoke with Bill Schmarzo, CTO of Dell EMC Services and Big Data. The topics we covered:

1) Big data analytics vs. IoT analytics – what’s the difference?

2) Processing at the edge seems like it’s still nascent technology. Some doubt it, some say it’s inevitable. What is required for real-time IoT streaming data management and edge analytics?

3) Why is IoT analytics important for leveraging the massive amount of IoT data to power business and operational models?

4) What’s the future for IoT analytics and Big Data analytics?
