The Verge: For a couple of hours Monday morning, Wikipedia’s home page was offline and many articles were displaying incorrectly. The company hasn’t divulged any specifics about the problem but blamed it on “networking issues.” The outage quickly resulted in a deluge of Twitter posts related to the downtime.

As of 10:50 ET, Wikipedia had issued a message saying, “In recovery from downtime due to networking issues. Main sites back up, some still in recovery. Apologies for the inconvenience. For the current status, go to http://status.wikimedia.org.”
