Computerworld: According to a new report from IDC, Apple sold 1.81 million Macs in the U.S. in the second quarter, a 1.1 percent year-over-year decline in sales. If IDC’s estimates are correct, that would be the first time Mac sales have declined in three years.

Although Mac sales were sluggish during the quarter, they weren’t nearly as bad as the sales declines in the rest of the PC industry. As a result, Apple actually increased its market share to 11.4 percent, according to IDC.

IDC’s estimates will be proven or dis-proven on July 24, when Apple reports its quarterly earnings.
