Patent Dispute Holds Up Sales of 2 HTC Phones in U.S.

The New York Times: U.S. customers who would like to purchase the HTC One X or the HTC Evo 4G LTE are going to have to wait a while. The International Trade Commission (ITC) has blocked imports of the two smartphones from the Taiwanese manufacturer following a December trial which found that some HTC phones infringed on patents held by Apple. HTC says it has changed the phones to comply with the ruling, but the ITC is refusing to allow the smartphones into the country until it can complete its investigation.

Bonnie Chang, an analyst at Yuanta Securities, noted, “It’s really hard to tell how much longer the phones will be held up at the customs, because the review has already taken a month.”
