InformationWeek: Smartphone maker Nokia says that the Nexus 7 tablet, which Google announced at the I/O conference, infringes on its Wi-Fi patents. “Nokia has more than 40 licensees, mainly for its standards essential patent portfolio, including most of the mobile device manufacturers. Neither Google nor Asus is licensed under our patent portfolio,” the company noted.

At this point, Nokia has not filed a lawsuit in the case. Instead, the company is encouraging Asus and Google to “approach us and sign up for a license.”
