FOXNews: Microsoft is taking credit for a raid on hardware and hackers behind the Zeus botnet. On Friday, Microsoft investigators and U.S. Marshals entered office buildings in Pennsylvania and Illinois and seized servers infected with the Zeus malware. Thirty-nine people known only by their hacker handles have been charged with offenses related to the malware.

“Cybercriminals have built hundreds of botnets using variants of Zeus malware,” said Microsoft’s Richard Domingues Boscovich. “We have proactively disrupted some of the most harmful botnets, and we expect this effort will significantly impact the cybercriminal underground for quite some time.”
