Lost Phones Cost Americans $30 Billion a Year

SmartMoney: A new study by mobile security company LookOut found that someone in the U.S. loses a cell phone every 3.5 seconds. Over the course of a year, all those lost phones add up to $30 billion dollars.

People were most likely to lose their phones between 9pm and 2am. The top five places to lose phones included coffee shops, bars, offices, restaurants and apartments. The cities with the most lost phones included Philadelphia, Seattle, Oakland, Long Beach and Newark.
