The Verge: According to Google’s Andy Rubin, the company now activate 850,000 new Android devices every day. In all, users have purchased more than 300 million devices that run Google’s mobile operating system, including 12 million tablets. Those numbers don’t include Amazon’s Kindle devices, and Google doesn’t double-count devices that get re-sold or reset.
Rubin added that the Android Market now has 450,000 apps, up from 160,000 last year.
