Amazon, Microsoft, Nokia Mulled RIM Bids

Washington Post: Several large technology companies have reportedly expressed interest in purchasing BlackBerry-maker RIM. The Wall Street Journal wrote that RIM had informal talks with Microsoft and Nokia, and Reuters cited unnamed sources who said that RIM also had casual merger talks with Amazon.

RIM has had a particularly tough year, and its stock price dropped to an eight-year low earlier this week. Observers say the company looks ripe for a takeover.
