Cnet: The latest report from StatCounter held some good news for Microsoft’s struggling Windows Phone platform. European sales of Windows Phone devices climbed 23.5 percent in July. Sales showed the biggest increases in Italy (66 percent), France (29 percent) and Germany (27 percent). U.S. sales increased 18.6 percent.

Still, the platform lags far behind Android and iPhone. Even with the 23.5 percent sales increase, Windows Phone captured just 1.68 percent of the European smartphone market.
