GigaOm: A new survey conducted by enterprise software vendor Alfresco finds that workers who have tablets are more likely to use their tablets than to use PCs when working outside the office. When working at home, 48 percent of those surveyed said they would use their tablets, while 46 percent said they would use PCs. At business meetings, 55 percent would use tablets, compared to 24 percent using PCs. And at conferences, 50 percent would use tablets, while 13 percent would use PCs.

In some less formal settings, smartphones are the device of choice. At a business lunch, 57 percent would use a smartphone, and at a coffee shop, 51 percent said would pull out their phones to get a little work done.
