Study: Broken iPhones Cost Americans About $6B in Repairs

Bloomberg BusinessWeek: A new study conducted by SquareTrade found that Americans spent $5.9 billion repairing or replacing damaged iPhones. In fact, accidental iPhone damage is ten times more common than loss or theft. The most common cause of damage is dropping a phone, but spilling liquid on it (or dropping it into liquid) is also common.

The study also notes that protective covers for iPhones can cost as little as $5.
