RIM Launches BlackBerry 10

PCMag: At the BlackBerry World conference in Orlando, RIM CEO Thorsten Heins showed off the company’s long-anticipated new mobile operating system, BlackBerry 10. Heins acknowledged that the development has taken some time, adding, “We’re taking our time to make sure we get this right… We’re hitting the milestones we’ve set out for ourselves in delivering the new BlackBerry 10 platform.”

The company also demonstrated a few key features of the OS, including a touchscreen keyboard, a glancing gesture which allows users to quickly switch between multiple apps running at the same time, and improvements in the camera software. RIM did not say when BlackBerry 10 would become commercially available.
