Judge to Apple: Leave Kodak Alone

DailyTech: U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Allan Gropper has ruled that Apple cannot proceed with a patent infringement case against Kodak at this time. Kodak has recently filed bankruptcy, and the judge said that it was an inappropriate time for the lawsuit. “The first 45 days are difficult in any bankruptcy case,” said Gropper. “The debtor has dozens of balls in the air, dozens of matters to take care of. What’s the need for immediate relief?”

Apple claims that Kodak should not have patented a technology the two companies developed together. It fears what will happen if Kodak sells the patent rights as part of its bankruptcy settlement.
