eWeek: According to the Computer Economics “2012 IT Salary Report,” IT staffers should expect average raises of 2.8 percent in 2012. Even those enterprises in the 75th percentile are planning to hand out raises of just 3 percent. However, those in the 25th percentile plan to increase salaries by 1.8 percent, which is better than last year, when many enterprises didn’t raise IT salaries at all. The report also said that workers with in-demand skils, such as mobile development, will see higher than average wage increases.

“Although there are modest improvements in the general employment picture, our research indicates hiring by IT organizations across all sectors will remain weak in 2012, especially among large organizations,” the report said. “If the domestic economy continues to improve, we anticipate some upward pressure on wages, however.”
