IE on a Rebound, Browser Share Data Shows

Computerworld: According to Net Applications, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer remained the world’s most popular browser in April with over 50 percent of the market. For three of the last four months, IE has gained market share, reversing its previous trend of declines. Last month, it climbed 0.3 percent to reach a total share of 54.1 percent, the same market share it had last September.

Google’s Chrome also gained 0.3 percent in April, capturing 18.9 percent of users and third place. Mozilla Firefox usage declined slightly, but the open source browser still placed second with 20.2 percent of users. Apple’s Safari (4.8 percent) and Opera (1.6 percent) placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
