The Wall Street Journal: Unnamed sources say that HP CEO Meg Whitman plans to merge the company’s PC and printer divisions into a single unit. Recently, both divisions have experienced declining revenues, and the move could reduce costs by sharing some resources between both groups. Together, the printer and PC divisions at HP earn about $65 billion a year. The combined business unit would likely report to Todd Bradley, who currently leads the PC group.

Some analysts have criticized the idea of merging the two groups. “HP has some massive structural fixes that they need to make, and this doesn’t come close,” said Evercore Partners analyst Rob Cihra,. “I don’t see how this changes anything apart from probably giving you an excuse to cut some heads and cut some costs.”
