Google Passes Apple to Become ‘Top Global Brand,’ Study Says

Cnet: Social analytics company General Sentiment has updated its list of the top ten global brands, and this time Google took the top slot. It beat out number two Apple, which had the top brand value during the first quarter. “Google regained the top spot in the Impact Media Value rankings thanks to buzz about new and improved products, including Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), the Nexus 7 tablet, the Nexus Q, and the Google Glass prototype,” said the report.

Other tech firms in the top ten included Microsoft (3), Amazon (4), HP (5), Samsung (6), Sony (7) and Yahoo (10).
