Washington Post: On Tuesday, Google announced some changes to its privacy policies. Instead of having separate privacy policies for each of its services, the company will combine 60 of its services under one umbrella policy.

Bloggers and privacy advocates immediately criticized the change, with some saying that Google had violated its “Don’t be evil” motto. In particular, they took issue with the fact that the new policy allows Google to share data across all of its services. However, others pointed out that those terms were already in the previous policies.

Some E.U. and U.S. government officials have also expressed concern about the revised privacy policy.
