All Things D: A new report from PwC Consulting titled “The Global State of Information Security Survey 2013″ found that 70 percent of the 9,300 executives surveyed believe that their security policies are “effective.” The same percentage described themselves as “very confident” or “somewhat confident” that they have sufficient security policies and practices in place.

However, that confidence may be somewhat misguided as the number of companies that suffered 50 or more security incidents during the year climbed to 13 percent. Less than half of the execs surveyed expected an increase in IT security budgets this year.
