PCWorld: Dell has announced that it is expanding its flagship XPS laptop line with two new models. Both feature thin aluminum casings, edge-to-edge displays with hardened Corning Glass, backlit chiclet keyboards and multigesture touchpads. The 14-inch model comes with a dual-core 2.6 GHz Intel Ivy Bridge Core i5-3317U processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM and the buyer’s choice of a 500GB hard drive, a 500GB hard drive with 32GB mSATA SSD, or a 512GB SSD. If the buyer opts for the SSD, that qualifies the new laptop for the ultrabook label. Prices will start at $1,100.

The 15-inch model features either a dual core 3.1 GHz Ivy Bridge Core i5-3210M or a quad-core 3.1 GHz Ivy Bridge Core i7-3612QM processor, plus a 500GB hard drive with 32GB mSATA SSD and a slot-load DVD-RW. Prices for this model will start at $1,300.
