Apple’s WWDC News: New Macbook Pros, iOS 6, Upgraded Siri

Cnet: Apple kicked off its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on Monday with a big keynote address. Here’s quick overview of announcements made by Tim Cook and other Apple execs:

  • The App Store now has 650,000 apps that have been downloaded 30 billion times by 400 million accounts.
  • The company updated the Macbook Air line with faster processors and graphics.
  • Apple has upgraded the existing Macbook Pro line with better components and introduced a next-generation Macbook Pro with a Retina Display.
  • The Mountain Lion update of OS X will arrive in July with 200 new features, including many cloud services.
  • Developers can now download the beta of iOS 6, with hundreds of new features, including better Facebook integration, updates for Siri and a new 3D mapping app.
