Apple Patches Record Number of Safari 5 Bugs with Monster Update

Computerworld: Apple has pushed out a new update for its Safari browser which patches a staggering 83 vulnerabilities, including 72 that the company called “critical.” That sets a new record for the number of bugs patched in one Safari update. However, none of the security bugs addressed had been used in actual attacks.

Most of the problems Apple patched related to WebKit, the open-source browser engine also used by Google Chrome. Google found most of the vulnerabilities that Apple patched and has already fixed them in Chrome.
