Cnet: The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has overturned a ruling by a lower court and said sales of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 should be banned in the U.S. until the court makes a decision in the patent infringement case brought by Apple. Apple alleges that Samsung’s tablet copies the design and features of the iPad. It’s now up to Apple to ask for the sales ban.

Both sides are scheduled to meet for court-mandated pre-trial settlement talks May 21 and 22. Whether or not Apple decides to seek the ban could have a big impact on how those talks progress.

It’s now been over a year since Apple and Samsung began their patent war, which has spread to more than 50 lawsuits in 10 different countries.
