Reuters: In court filings related to the patent lawsuit filed by Apple against Samsung, Apple asks for “substantial monetary damages.” Specifically, Apple says Samsung cost it $500 million in lost profit, and Apple also wants royalties, for “a combined total of $2.525 billion.” In addition, Apple is seeking an injunction to prevent Samsung from copying its designs in the future.

In response, Samsung says Apple is trying “to stifle legitimate competition and limit consumer choice to maintain its historically exorbitant profits.” Plus, Samsung says Apple owes it money for infringing on Samsung patents.

The trial is scheduled to begin July 30 in a federal court in San Jose, California.
