This week’s IT Salary Tracker results were compiled by comparing the results of May 1999 and November 1999 searches of the dice.com database for DBAs. Data came from available jobs listed during May and November 1999 on our sister site, dice.com, an Internet-based job board for IT professionals. From the May data, we extracted 612 jobs from the Dice.com database with an average salary of $76,000 and an average hourly contract rate of $63. From the November data, we found an impressive 1,590 jobs posted with the average salary growing to $77,000 and average contract rates moving up slightly to $68. Results are based on averages or totals from the following information on dice.com: salary, job type, job skills, and location.
