SSD Shipments Leap 66% in Q3, Revenue Doubles

Computerworld: According to IDC, manufacturers shipped 66 percent more solid state drives (SSDs) during the third quarter than during the same quarter last year. Revenue climbed from $673 million to $1.29 billion. While SSD sales to the industrial equipment market actually fell, enterprise data center sales more than doubled, from $247.8 million to $522 million. PC market sales also increased dramatically from $354 million to $716 million.

Those sales increases are particularly impressive because 2010 was also a very good year for SSD manufacturers.
