Google Will Pay Mozilla Almost $300M Per Year in Search Deal

All Things D: Unnamed sources have revealed more details about the search deal Google and Mozilla signed earlier this week. Google will now pay nearly $300 million a year to be the default search engine for Firefox users. That’s about three times as much as Google paid under the old deal, and the arrangement will last for three years.

Google was willing to pay so much more because of competing interest from Bing and Yahoo. Bing was said to be particularly aggressive in pursuing a deal with Firefox.
