U.S. Report Cites ‘Persistent’ Chinese, Russian Spying for Economic Gain

Wall Street Journal: According to a U.S. intelligence report issued Thursday, China and Russia are “the most aggressive collectors” of U.S economic information and technology. Essentially, the document accuses both countries of “active and persistent” cyberspying operations that target American companies. It says China and Russia use the information they obtain to further their own economic development. The report also claims that government, intelligence services, and private organizations and individuals have all taken part in the cyberspying.

Individual companies reported losses as high as $600 million because of Chinese cyberspying.
