Computerworld: On Thursday, the U.S. Senate voted 52-46 to reject a bill that would have struck down the FCC’s net neutrality rules. The bill had been championed by Texas Republican Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, and the vote against it largely followed party lines. The House of Representatives had earlier passed a similar measure, but President Obama had threatened a veto.
The net neutrality rules still face a challenge in the form of a lawsuit brought by Verizon Communications.
