InformationWeek: The Korea Economic Daily is reporting that Samsung has received pre-orders for more than 9 million Galaxy S III smartphones. Those orders are coming from more than 100 network operators worldwide, which will sell the handsets to end users. Samsung’s factories are currently producing 5 million of the devices per month.

Sales of the previous version of the Galaxy S topped 10 million. Samsung is currently the number one mobile phone manufacturer and the number one smartphone manufacturer in the world.
