Oracle Announces Partnership with NetSuite

Already this week, Oracle has announced new cloud partnership with Microsoft and Salesforce, and now it has added a third new partnership with NetSuite. This initiative will tie Oracle’s human resources services with NetSuite’s ERP offerings for medium-sized businesses.

Noel Randewich with Reuters reported, “Software companies Oracle and NetSuite announced an alliance to deliver cloud-based services to mid-size business customers, the third tie-up unveiled this week by Oracle as it pushes further into services delivered over the Internet. The agreement will focus on integrating Oracle’s software for human resources with NetSuite’s services for enterprise resource planning and will be aimed at mid-size companies, Oracle and NetSuite said.”

ZDNet’s Rachel King added, “Deloitte has also been tapped as the third partner in this initiative for crafting a dedicated practice about new and faster integrated Software-as-a-Service deployments.”

InformationWeek’s Doug Henschen commented, “The alliance is not surprising given that Oracle CEO Larry Ellison personally owns a controlling stake in NetSuite. It also makes perfect sense in that NetSuite lacked strong HCM apps, while Oracle is hell bent on rapidly growing its cloud computing footprint. The partnership and product-level integrations to come will give Oracle a first crack at selling cloud-based HCM apps into NetSuite’s existing and future customer base.”

All Things D’s Arik Hesseldahl noted, “[NetSuite] CEO Zach Nelson’s basic mission from the start has been to deliver some of the same technology available to large enterprises to smaller and midrange companies. A key move this year has been to add HR and financial apps to the ERP suite, and he settled on Oracle. ‘When we added our requirements up, there was only one solution that made sense, and it was Oracle,’ Nelson said on a conference call a few minutes ago.”
