OpenStack Spun out From Rackspace Control

PCWorld: Hosting provider Rackspace says it will give up control of the OpenStack open source cloud computing software. Instead, the company will set up a foundation that will manage the future development of the project.

“There is not a lot that needs to be fixed,” Rackspace vice president Mark Collier said. “We just felt that [it was time to] give the intellectual property assets an independent home, and to not be tied to any one company.”
