Computerworld: At its annual Symposium/ITxpo, Gartner sounded dire warnings for enterprise IT departments. “The second recession is about to hit,” said Gartner’s Peter Sondergaard. As a result, the firm says that IT budgets will feel the impact.
At the same time, the firm says that IT is changing dramatically as collaboration and mobile devices — particularly tablets — become more important. Analyst Tina Nunno encouraged companies to engage in “creative destruction,” and to “destroy perfectionism and embrace calculated risk.”
