The Telegraph: A problem at a RIM data center in Slough, England, has caused a major outage for BlackBerry users throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Users have been unable to access any Internet-based services, including e-mail and BBM, BlackBerry’s popular instant messaging service. The company is said to be “investigating” the problem.

RIM’s prospects have been looking increasingly bleak of late as it faces increasing pressure from competing smartphones, and it failed to meet sales targets in the most recent quarter.
