Reuters: Unnamed sources say that Richard “Chip” Lutton Junior, Apple’s chief patent attorney, will soon be leaving the company for unknown reasons. The LinkedIn profile for BJ Watrous, a former deputy general counsel with Hewlett Packard, now lists his title as vice president and chief IP counsel for Apple.

Currently, Microsoft is embroiled in multiple patent disputes, many involving mobile technology.
