Wall Street Journal: People familiar with the matter say that Amazon.com plans to release its own tablet PC sometime before this October. Amazon Chief Executive Jeff Bezos has also been hinting about the company’s tablet plans in his public appearances. The tablet will reportedly run the Android operating system and feature a nine-inch screen. However, it will not have a camera.
During the third quarter, Amazon also plans to launch two new versions of the Kindle e-reader, including one with a touchscreen.
