Amazon Could Sell 12 Million Fires in 2012

All Things D: Citi analyst Mark Mahaney has predicted that Amazon will sell 12 million Kindle Fire tablets in 2012. That would give it a 15 percent share of the tablet market, which is currently dominated by Apple’s iPad 2. And it would generate $3.2 billion in revenue for Amazon.

“The path is clear,” said Mahaney. “With an aggressive pricing strategy, an unmatched content cross-sell opportunity, a market-smart form factor, and probable product improvements — Amazon can own a substantial segment of the Tablet market.”
