Computerworld: A recent survey of 353 IT executives found that 29 percent plan to increase hiring through next summer, up from 23 percent last year. Among those who do plan to hire, the most in-demand job skills included the following:
- Programming and application development (61 percent plan to hire for this skill in the next 12 months)
- Project management (44 percent)
- Help desk/technical support (35 percent)
- Networking (35 percent)
- Business intelligence (23 percent)
- Data center operations (18 percent)
- Web 2.0 (18 percent)
- Security (17 percent)
- Telecommunications (9 percent)
