CNN: A new survey from the Pew Internet and American Life Project found that while a high percentage of both feature phone and smartphone users reported problems like dropped calls, spam and slow connections, smartphone owners were more likely to experience difficulties. For example, 35 percent of smartphone owners say they experience a dropped call at least once a week, compared to 28 percent of feature phone owners. Similarly, 30 percent of smartphone owners get spam every week, compared to 21 percent of feature phone owners. Finally, 49 percent of smartphone users say they regularly experience slow data connections, compared to 31 percent of feature phone owners. The report notes that it’s possible that smartphone owners have higher expectations than feature phone users, and thus are more likely to report problems.

The Pew survey also found that nearly ninety percent of U.S. adults now own a mobile phone.
