Apple, Google, Intel Fail to Dismiss Staff-Poaching Lawsuit

Reuters: District Judge Lucy Koh has denied a petition to dismiss a lawsuit brought by the Department of Justice (DOJ), which alleges that seven California companies violated antitrust regulations by negotiating agreements that prevented them from “cold-calling” each others’ staffers with job offers. “The fact that all six identical bilateral agreements were reached in secrecy among seven defendants in a span of two years suggests that these agreements resulted from collusion, and not from coincidence,” Koh said.

The companies charged in the case include Apple, Google, Intel, Adobe, Intuit, Walt Disney Co’s Pixar unit and Lucasfilm. The companies settled a similar case with the DOJ in 2010.
