Computerworld: Facebook and Yahoo have asked the court to extend deadlines in their patent infringement lawsuits because the two are trying to work our their differences outside of court. “The parties are currently engaged in settlement negotiations to resolve this dispute,” wrote attorney Kevin A. Smith. “The parties believe that a further extension will facilitate settlement.”

Yahoo originally filed the lawsuit in March, claiming that Facebook infringed on ten of its patents. Facebook countersued, claiming that Yahoo violated ten of its patents, and Yahoo later added two more patents to its suit.
