Who’s Leading Mobile App Efforts? Not IT

InfoWorld: A new survey by mobile application management vendor AppCentral has revealed some fundamental changes in enterprise IT operations. Among those surveyed, 36 percent said business units, not IT, provided the funds for mobile app projects, and 31 percent said mobile app funding comes primarily from marketing and executive leadership budgets. Also, 68 percent of those surveyed said they had access to at least one custom mobile app for their companies.

The survey also revealed that 64 percent of enterprises had BYOD policies in place.
