eWeek: The Linux Foundation has three new members: Inktank, Servergy and, most notably, Twitter. “Linux and its ability to be heavily tweaked is fundamental to our technology infrastructure,” said Twitter’s Chris Aniszczyk. “By joining The Linux Foundation, we can support an organization that is important to us and collaborate with a community that is advancing Linux as fast as we are improving Twitter.”

The Linux Foundation is a non-profit group dedicated to promoting Linux and open source software. Inktank is the company behind Ceph, an open source distributed storage system. Servergy is a server manufacturer.
