TouchPad Fire Sale Sets Off Flurry of Purchases

USAToday: Over the weekend, HP dropped the price on its TouchPad tablet from $399 to just $99. Although consumers had been slow to purchase the mobile device at the higher price point, consumers are apparently rushing to snatch them up at the lower price, with many retail outlets sold out of the device.

Last week, HP announced that it would stop manufacturing smartphones and tablets that use the webOS operating system, including the TouchPad.
