Reuters: Less than a day after Apple unveiled the iPhone 4S, Samsung announced that it will file legal challenges in France, Italy and other countries in an attempt to ban sales of the new smartphone. The move is just the latest development in a heated international patent and trademark dispute between the two leading smartphone manufacturers. In fact, the two companies filed lawsuits against each other at least 20 times in ten different countries.

In a statement about the latest case, Samsung said, “Apple has continued to flagrantly violate our intellectual property rights and free-ride on our technology. We will steadfastly protect our intellectual property.”
