Reuters: Demos Parneros, president of U.S. Retail for Staples Inc., says that Amazon plans to introduce five or six new tablets in the near future. According to Parneros, the new products will include a 10-inch model. Currently, Amazon makes only a 7-inch version of its Kindle Fire tablet, which is sold by Staples.

Recently, Amazon has dramatically increased the staff at its Lab126 research and design center in Silicon Valley, and many of its job postings for Lab126 have been related to mobile and wireless technology. That lends credence to the claims that Amazon will expand its tablet line.
