Fierce Mobile Content: The CEO network TechNet is reporting that the “App Economy” has created 466,000 jobs in the United States since 2007. Those jobs include programmers, user interface designers, marketers, managers and support staff at app development firms, large tech companies and enterprises.

The state with the most app-related jobs is California, but the city with the highest percentage of app economy jobs is the New York City/Northern New Jersey/Long Island metropolitan area. Georgia, Florida and Illinois are also emerging as hotbeds of app-related employment.
